Cosmetic Facial Procedures in Sacramento
Brow lift, also known as forehead lift, targets sagging brows, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles. This procedure smoothes out lines and reduces the tired look that loose skin may have produced.
With your brows returned to a more youthful position and the skin tightened, you will find yourself raising your brows less often, which is a prime cause of dynamic wrinkles such as horizontal forehead lines. Brow lift will also reduce the hooding of the upper eyelids that was caused by loose skin in this area.
With age, eyelid skin will begin to stretch out. Fat around the eyeball tends to grow as we get older, protruding under the skin, creating puffiness to the upper lids and bags under the eyes. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift, is a procedure that reverses this process by removing the excess skin and fat.
Eyelid lift can significantly improve the appearance of the eyes, restoring an alert, optimistic look. It is an especially good choice if you are satisfied with the shape and placement of your eyebrows, but have excess skin in your upper lid that overhangs the eyelid fold. Lower lid blepharoplasty is an excellent way to get rid of under-eye bags, reduce under-eye shadows, and smooth the skin.
Upper lid lifts and lower lid lifts can be done as a single procedure, or can be done together at the same time if both the upper and lower lids are affected.
Facelift is the best solution for the more severe changes in skin laxity, tone and texture that appear as we age. Facelift comprehensively rebuilds the integrity of the skin and restores youthful, well-defined facial contours.
The procedure achieves dramatic results by focusing on signs of aging that may have developed in the middle and lower facial regions. This includes the lateral brow, cheeks, jaw line, and neck. Facelift addresses loose skin, displaced fat or sagging tissue on the cheeks, excess skin and jowls, as well as excess skin and fat in the neck.
Facelift can be ideal for patients who are happy with their upper face, but don’t like the appearance of jowls or neck laxity.
Neck lift represents the lower two-thirds of a facelift. Neck lift tones the neck by removing fat, eliminating excess skin and tightening the platysma muscles.
An Upper Facelift can also be considered in those patients happy with their neckline, but who have mild jowls, more prominent nasolabial (parentheses lines) with loss of cheek volume, and lateral brow drop/crow’s feet.
Almost all facial procedures benefit from fat transfer. Loss of fat in the face is a major reason for an aging look, creating vertical lines around the mouth, deepening wrinkles, reducing cheek volume, and creating wrinkled earlobes. Fat can be harvested from the excess fat in the neck (or from elsewhere in the body, like the abdomen). The fat is then “grafted” under the skin to act as a more permanent “filler” for the face. Not all of the grafted fat survives, so the results are not as predictable as using a hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane or Juvederm, but the fat that does survive stays for a much longer term. Dr. Johnson offers fat transfer in all of her facelifting surgeries, in order to maximize the results.
